Spider Plant 'Fire Flash'
-
The 'Fire Flash' Spider Plant (also known as the Mandarin Plant or Orange Spider Plant) is a stunning relative of the common spider plant, but with a completely different look. Instead of long, thin arching leaves, it features broad, glossy green foliage that radiates from a brilliant, glowing orange center.
The most striking feature is the electric orange petioles (leaf stalks) and midribs. This color is natural and remains vibrant year-round, looking almost as if the plant is lit from within. Unlike the grassy texture of other spider plants, 'Fire Flash' has wide, lance-shaped leaves that give it a lush, "jungle" appearance.
Non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs, making it a perfect choice for pet-friendly homes.
-
Bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun will bleach the orange color and scorch the leaves. It can tolerate lower light, but the orange stems will be less intense.
Consistency is key. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.
Well-draining and rich soil.
Spider Plant 'Fire Flash' grows best in normal room temperatures (between 65°F-80°F). They are not frost-tolerant and do not grow well when the temperature drops below 55°F. Avoid high humidity.
Spider Plant 'Fire Flash' should be fertilized once during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.
