Senecio scaposus var. addoensis

  • Senecio scaposus var. addoensis (now known as Caputia scaposa var. addoensis) is a special form with broader, slightly serrated leaves compared to the standard species. The thick leaves are covered in soft, silvery fuzz that gives the whole plant a pale, glowing appearance. The contrast between the silver foliage and its smooth shape makes it very striking.
This plant forms a low, compact clump and can produce bright butter yellow flowers on short stalks during the growing season. It grows best in bright sunlight with excellent drainage and infrequent watering. Over time, it can be propagated by dividing clumps or taking cuttings as it develops new growth.

  •  Bright Indoor Light, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
