Sempervivum 'Reinhardt'
-
Sempervivum ‘Reinhardt’ (Haberer) is a strong-growing cultivar with a distinctive appearance. The apple-green center of the rosette contrasts clearly with dark purple to near-black leaf tips. Leaves are long, narrow, and upright, giving the rosette a more vertical profile compared to many Sempervivum. Over time, this variety can develop into a sizable clump through offset production.
Sempervivum plants originate from mountainous regions of Europe, where they are adapted to bright sun, rocky soils, and cold winters. ‘Reinhardt’ performs best outdoors, maintaining tight rosettes and strong seasonal coloration.
-
Full sun to partial sun
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).
