Sempervivum 'Red Pluche'
-
Sempervivum ‘Red Pluche’ is a striking rosette with rich icy red leaves and a bright lime green center. The leaves are covered with thick, silvery hairs along the tips and edges, giving the plant a soft, frosted appearance. In strong sunlight, the red tones deepen and the fuzzy coating becomes even more noticeable, adding extra texture and color.
This variety grows mainly in spring and summer and produces offsets that form a neat cluster over time. A mature rosette may also send up a tall flower stalk during the growing season. Like other Sempervivum, it is very cold hardy and thrives outdoors in full sun with gritty, well-draining soil. -
Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
