Sempervivum 'Itchen'

  •  Sempervivum ‘Itchen’ is a large, dramatic rosette with narrow, pointed leaves that change color throughout the year. In the growing season, the leaves are fresh green with tips flushed in pink to bright red. As temperatures cool, the tones shift to blue-green and rich purple, creating strong seasonal contrast. The sharp leaf shape gives the rosette a bold, star-like appearance.
This variety grows most actively in spring and summer. It produces offsets on long stolons, allowing new “chicks” to spread a short distance from the main plant and form expanding clusters. When mature, a rosette can send up a tall flower stalk in summer. It is easy to propagate by separating and replanting the offsets, and over time it forms a wide, colorful mat.

  •  Bright Indoor Light, Filtered / Partial Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
