Sempervivum heuffelii 'Violet'

  • Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Violet’ forms a striking rosette with rich red tones that gradually deepen to a dark purple as the seasons change. The center often keeps a hint of blue-green, while a thin white edge outlines each leaf and highlights the layered rosette shape. The color contrast gives this variety a bold, jewel-like appearance.
This plant grows slowly and forms clusters as the main rosette divides into new ones over time. These rosettes can be separated and replanted or left together to create a dense clump. It grows best outdoors in sunny locations with excellent drainage and only occasional watering during the growing season.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
