Sempervivum heuffelii 'Sundancer'

  • Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Sundancer’ forms tight clusters of rosettes with a bright lime green base and warm reddish gold edges. The leaves are lined with fine, glowing hairs that catch the light and add extra texture. As temperatures cool, the rosettes deepen to rich burgundy tones, giving the plant strong winter color.
This variety grows outdoors year-round and is very frost hardy and drought tolerant. Instead of sending out long stolons, the mother rosette slowly divides into new rosettes that stay close together. These can be separated and replanted or left to form a dense clump. Mature rosettes may bloom after several years. ‘Sundancer’ grows best in full sun with excellent drainage and only needs water during the active spring and summer season when the soil is completely dry.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
