Sempervivum heuffelii 'Kapo'

  • Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Kapo’ forms small, colorful rosettes with a mix of green and deep red tones. Each rosette stays compact, usually under about 2 inches wide, but the rich colors and tight shape make it very eye-catching. The leaves often deepen in color through the seasons, especially in strong sunlight.
This variety grows by slowly dividing into new rosettes, creating dense clusters over time. The rosettes can be separated and replanted or left together to form a compact clump. It grows best outdoors in sunny locations with gritty, well-draining soil and occasional watering during the spring and summer growing season.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
