Sempervivum heuffelii 'Jakupica'
-
Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Jakupica’ forms a densely packed rosette with sharply pointed, spiky leaves, giving it a strong architectural look. The rosette is bright green with light pink blushing through much of the growing season, then deepens to rich purple tones in winter, especially with cold temperatures.
Sempervivum heuffelii originate from mountainous regions of Europe and are adapted to bright sun, rocky soils, and cold winters. Unlike stolon-forming Sempervivum, heuffelii types divide at the center, gradually forming tight clusters of new rosettes. After several years, a mature rosette may bloom and die, while its offsets continue growing.
-
Full sun to partial sun
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).
