Sempervivum heuffelii 'Green Stone'
-
Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Green Stone’ (Ford) is a lime-green cultivar with orange to maroon leaf tips and leaves fringed with fine white cilia. As temperatures cool, the rosettes can flush completely maroon in winter, creating strong seasonal contrast.
Sempervivum heuffelii originate from mountainous regions of Europe and are adapted to bright sun, rocky soils, and cold winters. Unlike other Sempervivum, heuffelii types divide at the center rather than producing stolons, forming neat clusters of new rosettes over time. After several years, a mature rosette may bloom and die, while its offsets continue growing.
-
Full sun to partial sun
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).

Zones 4-10
