Sempervivum heuffelii 'Beatrice'
-
Sempervivum heuffelii ‘Beatrice’ forms a neat rosette of medium green leaves with warm orange to red tips. Each leaf is lined with fine white cilia that give the rosette a delicate, slightly fringed look. As temperatures cool, the color deepens to a rich, glossy garnet, creating a dramatic seasonal change.
This variety grows by slowly dividing into new rosettes, forming a compact cluster over time. These rosettes can be separated and replanted or left together to create a dense clump. It grows best outdoors in sunny locations with excellent drainage and occasional watering during the spring and summer growing season. -
Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
