Sempervivum globiferum ssp. allionii
-
Sempervivum globiferum ssp. allionii forms a bright lime-green rosette with a spiky look, and the leaf tips can turn red. The rosette is tight and rounded, with pointed leaves that give the plant a bold, textured appearance. This is a special “roller” type that makes many small, round offsets on thin stems, which can easily break off and roll away from the main plant.
This plant grows most actively in spring and summer, when it produces many offsets, often called “chicks.” These offsets can grow close together to form small clusters. Sempervivum is very cold-hardy and can survive winter conditions, slowing its growth during colder periods before becoming active again when temperatures rise.
-
Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).
