Product image 1

Sempervivum arachnoideum ssp. tomentosum

  • Sempervivum arachnoideum ssp. tomentosum forms very small rosettes, about 3/4 inch wide, heavily covered in thick white webbing. The green leaves often show a soft rosy tint and can flush light purple in spring. The dense cobwebbing gives each rosette a delicate, frosted appearance.
This variety produces many tiny offsets on short stolons, quickly forming neat, compact clumps. It grows mainly in spring and summer and may send up a flower stalk when mature. It is extremely cold hardy and thrives outdoors in full sun with gritty, well-draining soil.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
