Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Cebenese'

  •  Sempervivum arachnoideum ‘Cebenese’ (Payne) is a standout hens and chicks variety that looks almost magical up close. It is one of the larger arachnoideum types and is wrapped in thick white webbing, with soft pink tones along the leaf edges. From a distance, the rosettes can resemble small white stones scattered across the garden, which makes this plant especially eye catching in rock gardens, green roofs, and living walls.

Hens and Chicks are hardy outdoor succulents that love sunlight and open air. ‘Cebenese’ grows with long stolons that produce many baby plants, quickly forming loose, spreading colonies. Over time, these offsets pile up around the mother plant, creating a natural and textured look that feels wild yet balanced.

  • Full sun to partial sun

Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.

Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).

  • Zones 4-10
