Sedum rupestre 'Silver'
-
Petrosedum rupestre ‘Silver’ is a low-growing, mat-forming succulent with fine, needle-like leaves that look similar to pine needles. The foliage ranges from blue green to soft silver, making it a great contrast plant next to red or purple succulents. It spreads gently along the ground or spills nicely over the edges of containers without becoming aggressive.
This plant grows actively in warm seasons and stays compact and tidy. In late summer, it sends up thin stems topped with many tiny yellow flowers, adding a bright, cheerful accent. Over time, it slowly fills in to create a dense, attractive mat while keeping a controlled growth habit.
-
Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-75% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
