Sedum Oaxacanum
-
Sedum oaxacanum, or Oaxacan Stonecrop, is a delicate, low-growing succulent with small, rounded green leaves tipped in a soft dusting of white. The foliage forms dense, trailing stems that stay flexible and relaxed, allowing the plant to spread gently across the surface or cascade naturally over the edges of containers. Its fine texture and light coloring give it an airy, almost misty appearance when viewed up close.
During summer, the plant becomes even more lively as clusters of bright yellow, star-shaped flowers appear above the foliage. Native to the high elevations of Central Mexico, Sedum oaxacanum keeps a compact profile while steadily spreading, creating a soft mat of greenery that feels light, cheerful, and full of movement.
-
Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 50%-70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses (Pet-friendly).
