Pothos 'Lemon Top'

  • The ‘Lemon Top’ is a unique variety, discovered as a sport (a naturally occurring genetic mutation) of the popular ‘Lemon Meringue’ Pothos. It features classic, heart-shaped leaves with a truly special characteristic: a significant color change as they mature. Leaves emerge as a vibrant, golden-yellow shade subtly streaked with light green, and then slowly deepen to a rich, dark green as they fully mature. This provides a stunning gradient effect on the vine, where new growth is bright yellow and older growth is deep green.
As a cultivar of Epipremnum aureum, it originates from the Solomon Islands and is native to tropical and subtropical forests globally.

Pothos (Epipremnum) plants are part of the Araceae family and produce a small flower spike called a spadix, encircled by a boat-shaped leaf known as a spathe. However, Pothos plants very rarely, if ever, flower indoors or in cultivation. Their ornamental value lies purely in their stunning foliage.

  • Bright, Indirect Light is Ideal. This light level encourages the best golden-yellow coloration. It can tolerate medium and low light, but the leaves will stay greener, and the growth will slow down.

Water Moderately. Allow the top half of the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Pothos are tolerant of some drought but thrive best with consistent moisture.

Needs a standard, well-draining houseplant potting mix. Excellent drainage is critical to prevent root rot.

  • Typically Zones 10-12. Grown exclusively as an indoor houseplant in most regions.
