Philodendron 'Florida Ghost'

  • Philodendron Florida Ghost is a rare, evergreen, climbing hybrid Philodendron. Its accepted parentage is a cross between Philodendron squamiferum and Philodendron pedatum, both native to tropical South America.

This striking hybrid is celebrated for its ever-changing foliage, where each new leaf unfurls in a brilliant white or minty green before slowly transforming into a deep emerald hue. The unique color shift gives the plant its “ghostly” name and makes it a true conversation starter.

  • Bright, Indirect Light is essential. This encourages the vibrant white color of the new leaves to last longer and supports healthy growth.

Allow the top 1–2 inches of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Water less frequently in winter.

Use a chunky, well-draining, and airy Aroid mix that is rich in organic matter.

  • USDA Zone 10-12

    USDA Zone 9b: to -3.8 °C (25 °F)

    USDA Zone 10a: to -1.1 °C (30 °F)

    USDA Zone 10b: to 1.7 °C (35 °F)
