Philodendron 'Congo Nuclear'
-
The Philodendron 'Congo Nuclear' is a rare, upright-growing (self-heading) hybrid Philodendron. Unlike many common varieties that trail or climb, the 'Congo Nuclear' grows in an upright, bushy, and compact habit.
The 'Congo Nuclear' is celebrated for its truly vibrant and dynamic foliage. Its large, paddle-shaped leaves boast an electrifying, glossy, neon-green or bright lime-green hue. The variegated version features striking, dynamic marbling of cream, yellow, and deep green, resembling an "explosion" or a "nuclear" glow of color.
Like other Philodendrons, it helps filter common airborne toxins, contributing to a healthier indoor environment.
-
Bright, indirect light is essential for maintaining the brightest leaf color and variegation.
Water thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch (usually about once a week in an average home environment). Ensure excess water drains away.
Use a mix formulated for tropical plants, often containing potting soil, perlite, coco coir, or orchid bark to ensure proper aeration and drainage and prevent root rot.
It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C).
