Mother of Thousands Kalanchoe

  • Mother of thousands,or Kalanchoe x houghtonii is rare hybrid of Kalanchoe daigremontiana and Kalanchoe delagoensis. It can be identified by the V-shaped leaved which are arched, boat-shaped, fleshy, tricorncred, and emerald green to brownish-green in color, usually with purple splotches beneath and serrated margins. Plantlets are produced at the margins of leaves.

    Mother of Thousands is similar to Mother of Millions in the way they reproduce, but the leaves of Mother of Thousands are broad and tear-shaped, while the leaves of Mother of Millions are narrower and more pencil-shaped

    Flowers are pendulous orange and pink in color.

    Plants may be shipped bare root.

  • Partial sun. Bright filtered sunlight.

    Porous and well-drained cactus mix.

    Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely.

    Feed the plant once with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season.
