Mammilloydia candida Snowball Cactus

  •  Snowball Cactus (Mammilloydia candida) is a striking columnar cactus completely covered in dense, short white spines that give it a soft, snowy appearance. The rounded stem is made up of many small bumps called tubercles, each topped with a cluster of fine white spines that create a bright, textured surface. As it grows, the cactus forms a clean, symmetrical column and can reach about 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide at maturity. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.5" pot.

During summer, mature plants can produce delicate pale pink to white flowers that form a small ring near the top of the stem. It grows best in bright sunlight with very well-draining soil and infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings to keep the plant healthy and compact.

  • Full sun to very bright indirect light.

    Well-draining cactus mix.

Low. Use the "soak and dry" method. Water only when the soil is completely dry to the touch.
  • Zone 10
