Haworthia resendeana
-
Haworthiopsis / Haworthia resendeana forms short, thick leaves that are tightly packed in a stacked, tower-like rosette. The leaves are green but can turn reddish-brown in strong sunlight. They are firm and slightly textured, giving the plant a bold, sculptural look. Even though it handles bright light well, it can also tolerate lower light conditions indoors.
This plant grows slowly and usually stays compact in pots. Over time, it produces small offsets around the base, forming a tight cluster. It may send up a thin flower stalk with small, pale flowers when mature. Propagation is easy by gently separating the offsets and replanting them in well-draining soil.
-
Filtered / Partial Sun, Low Indoor Light.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
