Haworthia reinwardtii
-
Haworthiopsis reinwardtii has thick, upright green leaves covered with raised white dots on the outer surface. The leaves are narrow and grow stacked along a central stem, giving the plant a tall, column-like shape. Its more slender leaves help distinguish it from similar species. The strong pattern of white bumps adds texture and contrast to the deep green color.
This plant grows slowly and stays compact in pots. Over time, it produces small offsets around the base, forming a clustered group. Mature plants may send up a thin flower stalk with small, pale flowers. It is easy to propagate by separating the offsets and replanting them in well-draining soil.
-
Filtered / Partial Sun, Low Indoor Light.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
