Geogenanthus 'Seersucker'

  • The Geogenanthus 'Seersucker' is botanically known as Geogenanthus poeppigii. This plant is native to the tropical rainforest understory of South America, primarily found in areas of Peru and Brazil.

The foliage is truly unique: glossy, deep green leaves are dramatically striped with silvery-green or gray-green accents along the veins, and the underside of the leaf is a contrasting deep reddish-purple that gives the plant a metallic, vibrant sheen.

  • Medium to low indirect light is best. It thrives in the dappled light of the forest floor and should be protected from all direct, harsh sunlight, which will quickly scorch and fade its unique color and texture.

Keep the soil consistently moist, but never soggy. Water when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry to the touch.

A rich, moisture-retaining, and well-draining potting mix is crucial.

  • USDA Zone 10-12

    USDA Zone 9b: to -3.8 °C (25 °F)

    USDA Zone 10a: to -1.1 °C (30 °F)

    USDA Zone 10b: to 1.7 °C (35 °F)

    USDA Zone 11: above 4.5 °C (40 °F)
