Ficus 'Shivereana' (Moonshine)

  • The Ficus Shivereana, often affectionately nicknamed 'Moonshine', is a spectacular and highly coveted cultivar of the traditional Rubber Tree (Ficus elastica). This Rubber Tree is notable for its large, thick, leathery leaves with beautiful marbled or mottled variegation in shades of creamy white, pale yellow, lime green, and deep olive green.

The signature feature is its "Moonshine" color palette. The soft, pale, mottled colors contrast dramatically with the dark green of the standard rubber plant, giving it an ethereal glow. New leaves sometimes emerge with hints of pink or peach.

  • It prefers bright, indirect light.

Water thoroughly when the top half of the soil is dry to the touch. It appreciates consistently moist (but not soggy) soil during the growing season (spring/summer).

Use a rich, well-draining potting mix that is slightly acidic to neutral (pH 6.0-7.0).

  • USDA Zone 10-12

    USDA Zone 9b: to -3.8 °C (25 °F)

    USDA Zone 10a: to -1.1 °C (30 °F)

    USDA Zone 10b: to 1.7 °C (35 °F)

    USDA Zone 11: above 4.5 °C (40 °F)
