Faumatium hybrid

  • Faumatium (Faucaria x Stomatium) is a distinctive hybrid that forms dense, spreading clusters over time. It has thick, triangular leaves edged in white and covered with many small speckles. Some leaves show fine, thread-like “teeth” along the edges. In strong sunlight, the foliage can flush a rich magenta color, adding bold contrast to its green base.
This plant often blooms in late summer or autumn with glossy yellow flowers that open in the afternoon and close in the evening. It grows most actively in spring and fall and prefers slightly more frequent watering during those seasons, with less water in summer and winter. It thrives in bright light with well-draining soil and can be divided easily as it forms new clusters.

  • Bright Indoor Light, Filtered / Partial Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
