Echeveria 'Orion'
-
Echeveria ‘Orion’ is a wide, low rosette with smooth silvery blue leaves that form a neat, rounded shape. The thick leaves are slightly cupped and covered with a soft layer of powdery farina, giving the plant a frosted, pastel look. When grown in bright sunlight, the leaf edges and tips can develop shades of pink to purple, adding beautiful contrast to the cool blue base.
This hybrid grows as a compact rosette and may produce a bloom stalk with small flowers during the growing season. Over time it can also form offsets around the base that create a tidy cluster or can be separated and replanted. It grows best in bright sunlight with very well-draining soil and infrequent watering once the soil has fully dried. -
Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
