Dracaena 'Lime Light'

  • The Dracaena 'Lime Light' (Dracaena fragrans 'Limelight') is a show-stopping tropical houseplant beloved for its "electric" neon foliage. This plant is native to the tropical regions of Africa, where it thrives in the humid understory of rainforests.

Unlike other Dracaena varieties that feature stripes or variegation, 'Lime Light' is famous for its solid, glossy, chartreuse-green leaves that can brighten even the dimmest corners of a room.

Like its cousin the Corn Plant, it is scientifically recognized for its ability to filter indoor air toxins, specifically benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene. It is incredibly "unfussy." It is drought-tolerant and can handle the lower humidity levels typically found in modern homes, though it appreciates occasional misting.

  • Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate low light, but its signature neon color may fade to a darker green.

Allow the top 50-75% of the soil to dry out before watering.

Use a well-draining, loamy potting mix.

The plant prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C - 27°C). It is sensitive to cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F can cause damage.

  • USDA Zone 10-12

    USDA Zone 9b: to -3.8 °C (25 °F)

    USDA Zone 10a: to -1.1 °C (30 °F)

    USDA Zone 10b: to 1.7 °C (35 °F)

    USDA Zone 11: above 4.5 °C (40 °F)
