Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans

  • Small Red Carpet Stonecrop (Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans) is a low, bushy succulent that spreads to form a dense ground cover. Its small oval leaves start green but can turn bright red when grown in strong sunlight. The colorful foliage creates a vibrant carpet effect, especially in warm, sunny conditions.
This variety grows steadily and may produce clusters of tiny white flowers in late winter or spring. It prefers bright light with well-draining soil and infrequent watering once the soil is dry. In frost-free climates it can grow outdoors as a ground cover, while in cooler areas it grows well indoors in containers.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
