  • Chick Charms Powdered Pastry is a large, fuzzy rosette with a soft, powdery look. The leaves are covered in fine hairs that become thicker and more noticeable in bright sunlight. Its impressive size makes it an excellent centerpiece in rock gardens or containers, while the soft texture adds extra visual interest.                                                                                                                                   
    This variety produces offsets regularly, forming a neat mat of big rosettes over time. It grows mainly in spring and summer and may send up a flower stalk once mature. Like other Hens and Chicks, it is very cold hardy and thrives outdoors in full sun with gritty, well-draining soil.

    Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

    Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
