Chick Charms Giant Steel Appeal

  • Chick Charms Giant Steel Appeal forms a striking rosette with cool steel grey leaves contrasted by deep garnet red tones. The bold color contrast makes this Sempervivum especially eye-catching, while fine silvery cilia along the leaf margins add delicate texture when viewed up close. This plant is fully rooted in a 2.5" pot.
This variety grows mainly in spring and summer and produces many offsets, often called “chicks,” on short stolons. Over time these offsets form dense clusters of rosettes. It grows best outdoors in full sun with gritty, well-draining soil, where the chicks can be left to create a tidy mat or separated and replanted to grow new plants.

  • Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
