Aloe Blizzard
-
Aloe 'Blizzard' is a small, decorative hybrid succulent famous for its intense variegation. Unlike standard green Aloes, 'Blizzard' is almost entirely creamy white with small, irregular green spots and streaks. Its thick, fleshy leaves form a perfect star-shaped rosette with tiny, soft teeth along the edges.
This is a cultivated hybrid, specifically bred for its "snow-covered" appearance. While its ancestors are native to the arid regions of South Africa and Madagascar, the 'Blizzard' variety was created by succulent enthusiasts to be a compact, visually dramatic houseplant.
The heavy white variegation is "bumpy" or slightly raised, giving the plant a tactile, 3D feel. Because it stays small and doesn't grow wild like the common Aloe Vera, it maintains its ornamental "snowflake" look for years.
-
Bright, indirect light. It loves a sunny windowsill. Too little light will cause it to lose its white intensity and stretch.
Excellent drainage. Use a cactus or succulent potting mix with added perlite or coarse sand.
Low. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. It is highly drought-tolerant and prone to rot if overwatered. -
9 – 11. Not frost-hardy. In most climates, it is strictly an indoor plant or a seasonal outdoor plant.
