Agave inaequidens 'Ashy White'

  • Agave inaequidens ‘Ashy White’ is a bold, sculptural succulent with thick, leathery leaves covered in a pale, powdery coating. This gives the plant a soft ashy blue to silvery white color. Each wide leaf is lined with sharp, uneven teeth along the edges and ends in a strong spine, creating a dramatic and architectural look. Native to Mexico, it is well suited to dry, sunny climates.
This agave grows slowly, especially in spring and summer, and forms a strong central rosette. Over time, it produces offsets, or “pups,” around the base, which can be separated and replanted. Mature plants may eventually send up a tall flower stalk. It is easy to propagate from the pups once they are large enough.

  •  Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.

Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
